Rathaus Hohenems
Good lighting plays a central role in visual perception and emotional experience.
The New Town Hall in Hohenems
The new Town Hall in Hohenems was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Timber Construction 2026, recognizing it as an outstanding example of forward-looking timber architecture. Presented for the first time at a national level, the award honors projects that excel in innovation, sustainability, and architectural quality.
Opened in 2025, the Town Hall forms a modern urban landmark in the center of Hohenems. Designed by Berktold Weber Architekten, the sustainable timber-hybrid building brings together all municipal administration departments under one roof while opening itself to the surrounding public space. Bright, natural materials, flexible floor plans, and consistently circular construction materials create a future-oriented and citizen-friendly building that combines functionality, sustainability, and architectural excellence in an exemplary way.
»The appearance of the new town hall is a direct expression of its construction and materiality.«
Lighting Concept – Town Hall Hohenems
For the new town hall in Hohenems, we had the opportunity to supply the luminaires and contribute to a clear and welcoming lighting atmosphere. Balanced lighting is particularly important in a public building: it provides orientation, supports focused work for employees, and creates a pleasant and inviting environment for visitors. The result is a bright, modern setting where people can easily find their way and feel comfortable.
